Ex- Senegal striker Niasse, who netted 12 goals in sixty-five Premier League games for the Toffees and even now attends their home games, also made his debut against Collegiate OB - who are located in Liverpool and use an Everton training kit as their strip.

"My mate Stephen told me 'come and have a game, it's good fun'," said Niasse.

"Then he informed me we were facing a team from Liverpool and the surprise I had when I saw them wearing Everton shirts - I say this is strange for me!

"If you still enjoy the game and you know you can still play, wherever you can play, what are you going to do?

"Those people who turn up and watch are pleased and to make a day if they see us competing there and to ask us questions - it's more like the pleasure of us getting a place we can play, with structure of course."

So great is the strength in depth at the club, Niasse made his first game at full-back.

"That's a little unusual but then, I love running and just move forward - I'm not defending that much," he added.

"I warn my defender 'I'm not hanging back' and that I'm just going to keep running.

"That movement is what I'm looking for. It's enjoyable."

Along with Cisse's 6 scores on debut, Stephen Ireland has scored eight in 3 appearances for the side, while Boyd scored five on his first appearance and Lescott, a defender by position, notched a triple in one match as a striker.

"I think I was a little starstruck playing against Figueroa to be honest.

"We competed well for a good 20 minutes but then we had a player dismissed and it was tough.

"We really haven't ceased talking about it - I was calling my mother and sibling on the way home.

"The opponents were all really nice, shaking our hands after the game - it was like facing a bunch of normal guys.

"Now we can't wait for the return match."
